About Mahanaim World

A growing platform for contemporary African expression.

Located in the serene and vibrant district of Asokoro, Abuja, Mahanaim World is a contemporary art space — African at heart, international in reach — committed to discovering and promoting artists and narratives, and to the dialogue between African and international voices, through meaningful artistic engagement and cultural storytelling.

Our Story

From a single gallery to a wider world.

Mahanaim World was founded in Asokoro in 2020 by Bilikisu Lawal — an investment banker with a background in artist management and interior design, fuelled by a passion for supporting undiscovered talent.

What began as a gallery giving a voice to the voiceless has matured into a broader cultural house. Today, Mahanaim World connects local creativity with global audiences through art, gifting, exhibitions, charity and cultural exchange — a dynamic bridge between African heritage and international contemporary culture.

We believe art is a tool for transformation and connection. Every exhibition, every commission and every partnership is an invitation to see Africa's story told in its own voice.

Our Mission

01

To champion talented artists — African at heart, international in reach — yet to gain widespread recognition, and to carry their work onto a global stage.

02

To be a leading contemporary art space rooted in Africa and open to the world, celebrating African heritage, progress and potential alongside international voices.

03

To create a meeting place where African and international artists exhibit in dialogue — each enriching the other's story.

“We proudly present a curated direction of artworks and cultural narratives reflecting Africa's rich visual culture, complex historical journeys, evolving identities and enduring spirit of innovation.”
